Tirumala to be shut for 10 hours on October 8

The temple would closed for 10 hours owing to the lunar eclipse
Tirupati: Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala is to be closed for 10 hours owing to the lunar eclipse which falls on October 8, i.e., on Wednesday.
Speaking to media persons at Tirumala on Sunday, TTD JEO K.S. Srinivasa Raju said that the Tirumala temple would be closed from 10 am to 8 pm on Wednesday on account of the lunar eclipse. The JEO added that in view of the closure of the Tirumala temple for 10 hours, darshan would commence after the conduct of special rituals including cleansing of the Tirumala temple after 8 pm on October 8. The JEO appealed to the devotees to plan their visit in accordance with the closure timings.
Meanwhile, the JEO who inspected the queue lines at ATC in Tirumala on Sunday observed that the pilgrim crowd has increased by manifolds due to series of holidays apart from Dasara and week-ends.
“Especially the devotees from Tamil Nadu are flooding to Tirumala with the advent of the auspicious Purattasi Sanivaram. As a result all queue lines are brimming with pilgrims and the serpentine queue lines have extended up to kilometres in Tirumala. Keeping in view the pilgrim influx, we have cancelled VIP break even on Monday i.e. October 6. We have also stalled issuing of Divya Darshan tokens (footpath darshan) till the rush subsides. The privileged darshan for aged, parents with infants and physically handicapped will be provided on Monday for those who were already present in Tirumala from the newly shifted point at Ugranam,” he added.
The JEO appealed to the pilgrims, to plan their pilgrimage to Tirumala keeping in view the above facts and co-operate with the TTD management.
