Professor, wife in custody battle

Police said there was a dispute between Guruprasad and his wife Suhasini

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad police has started an investigation into the death of professor Guruprasad and the Malkajgiri police is trying to track the missing boys.

Secunderabad railway police said there was a dispute between Guruprasad and his wife Suhasini. A case was going on in a local court regarding this and Guruprasad was apparently depressed about it. However, police said that they have not found any suicide note on him.

Since a dispute was on between the couple regarding custody of the children the court had allowed Guruprasad to keep the children on Saturday from morning till afternoon. “So, on Saturday morning at around 9 am, he picked up the kids from his wife's house at Malkajgiri and left for some place. Later, in the evening, we got the body from railway track. He had serious injuries and was decapitated. In the initial inquiry it seemed like a suicide. But we are investigating all angles,” said inspector Anjaneyulu.

Usually, after spending time with his children he used to drop them home every week, police said.

Mr Guruprasad and Suhasini got married 13 years ago but problems started a few years ago. Since then, he had been living alone at a house in Alwal and was teaching at Shankarpally.
