Emergency services hit by medico strike

Junior doctors in the city stretched their protest against mandatory government service
Hyderabad: Junior doctors in the city stretched their protest against mandatory government service into the fourth day, affecting emergency services in hospitals. Medical education officials also remained unyielding on the issue of government service.
Junior doctors briefly locked up the administrative building at Gandhi Hospital and later had an altercation with the superintendent of the hospital. However, a few doctors were on duty attending to patients in the emergency department.
Post graduate medicos have been protesting since Wednesday against mandatory government service in tertiary hospitals in cities and bigger towns calling it ‘bonded labour.’
