Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at New Delhi after completing his successful US visit on Wednesday evening. He was greeted by BJP leaders and ministers. Excited party workers burst crackers bursting outside BJP's Delhi headquaters marking PM Modi's return.

The Prime Minister said that his meeting with US President Barack Obama was successful when both the leaders met at the Oval office of the White House in Washington.
During his five day 'packed' official visit to US, PM Modi met New York City's Mayor, Bill de Blasio and discussed topics like urban space, public housing, megacity policing, and threats to big cities. Next day Mr. Modi visited the 9/11 memorial and paid homage to the victims of the deadly terrorist attack.
On the same day PM Modi met the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and addressed the 69th UN General Assembly. PM pointed out why his Government has placed the highest priority on advancing friendship and cooperation with her neighbours and talks about bringing reforms in the UN including the Security Council and suggested to make it more democratic and participative. Institutions that reflect the imperatives of 20th century won't be effective in the 21st century. Later followed by meetings with the Prime Ministers of Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Next day PM Naredra Modi addressed The Madison Square Garden packed with his supporters organised in his honour by the Indian American Community Foundation, which was a full house. Attended by many US Congressmen, where he spoke about India having potential and grit to overcome problems and making our nation one of the most developed in the world. Modi also addressed thousands of youth gathered at "Global Citizen Festival" in Central Park where he sopke about invoking "can do" attitude of youth to change India and the world.
Fourth day of his visit, the Prime Minister interacted with CEOs of leading companies including Google's Eric Schmidt, David M. Rubenstein of The Carlyle Group, Citigroup CEO Michael Corbat, Doug Oberhelman of Caterpillar Inc, Indra Nooyi of PepsiCo and Michael Ball of US-based global pharmaceutical company Hospira Inc. and Kenneth C. Frazier of Merck and Co. Prime Minister also met former US President Mr Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton while in New York. Later he also addressed a Council on Foreign Relations and then left for Washington to meet US President Barack Obama who had invited PM Modi over dinner.
On his final day of visit, PM Modi visited the Indian Embassy and interacted with children and families of the Indian community in Washington, followed by a his visit to Mahatma Gandhi statue where he paid tribute.
In the most important phase of his visit, PM Modi then met US President Obama at Oval office of the White House where both the world leaders discussed various issues and how both the democracies have grown apart and now was the time to set a new agenda. PM Modi and President Obama also agreed to make "joint efforts" to dismantle safe havens for terror and criminal networks in India like LeT, JeM, D-company, Al-Qaeda and Haqqani network. Later on PM Modi Secretary of State John Kerry and US Vice President Joe Biden and addressed a joint press meeting.
To sum up Modi's Maiden US visit as a prime minister had great significance because it was a joint effort by both the nations as the world leaders tried to revive their mutual relations, as PM Modi went with a vision for looking forward to America's cooperation in various sectors like defence, security, energy economic and space.
