Resurvey nails Akkineni Nagarjuna’s property

Thammidi Kunta resurvey started on September 26 and ended on September 29

Hyderabad: Following the High Court’s directive and request from the GHMC commissioner, three departments irrigation, revenue and survey & land carried out the resurvey of 250-year-old Thammidi Kunta lake in Madhapur, which was encroached by the management of N-Convention Centre. N-Convention is owned by Tollywood actor A. Nagarjuna.

The resurvey was completed on Monday and the report from the three departments will be submitted to the GHMC to take action on the N-Convention management for having encroached upon 3.12 acres, including the full tank level area and the buffer zone.

Shekar Reddy, executive engineer (irrigation department), said that the GHMC had written a letter to all the three departments to resurvey the lake following the court order on earmarking FTL for all lakes in the GHMC and HMDA jurisdiction. The resurvey of Thammidi Kunta started on September 26 and ended on September 29. The three departments will conduct a joint meet and complete the mapping of the lake and submit the same to the GHMC within two working days.

The GHMC said, “It was found during the joint inspection by the GHMC and the irrigation department that the lake bed was encroached by the management of N-Convention Centre. The corporation will initiate action in accordance with law.”
