The Nightingale of India was born on September 28, 1929. Throughout her career, which spanned around 7 decades, Lata Mangeshkar has gifted her voice to thousands of songs.
Her duets with Manna Dey, Mohammed Rafi , Kishore Kumar and Mukhesh are the one we still listen to, it never goes out of fashion. Also Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Rahul Dev Burman composed her most notable songs.
Recently she has been dubbed India’s Most Admired Woman in a poll. In the survey, conducted by Bharat Matrimony on 8179 men to mark International Women’s Day, 35 percent of respondents voted for Lata as India’s most iconic woman.
