Microsoft to compete Chromecast with MWDA

Microsoft’s wireless streaming device is available for a pre-order

Microsoft has always been a leader in the desktop operating system platform. However, in the mobile platform, they seem to be running late.

Google had introduced Chromecast pretty long back, but Microsoft seems to have awakened a bit too late. The software giant has introduced a Chromecast-like device to help stream media from PCs, Laptops, tablets and phones.

Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter is a simple device with an HDMI connector on one end and a USB connector on the other. The device plugs into the HDMI port of the television, projector or monitor and the USB could connect to a USB port on the TV itself or an external source for power. Once connected, pair the devices and stream your videos, audio or photos to the television.

But here is the catch—the device will only stream media content from a Miracast-enabled device.

The device is presently available only in US and Canada, and on pre-order. The price tag on the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter is $59.95 (Appros Rs 3,600)
