Security stepped up in Sri Bhrambika Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple at Srisailam

Apart from the special security forces at the temple, the local police also conducted checks at the temple
Kurnool: Security has been stepped up at the Sri Bhrambika Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple and Srisailam Project on Thursday in the wake of the central intelligence agencies' warning which suggest a possible terror attack. Apart from the special security forces at the temple, the local police also conducted checks at the temple.
It may be recalled that the intelligence agencies have issued similar warnings in the past. It is learnt that the terrorists have targeted the temple in view of the ongoing Dasara celebrations during which several thousands of devotees throng the temple. It becomes easier for the terrorists to masquerade as devotees to create mayhem.
Srisailam Circle Inspector Venugopal Reddy said that they had asked the security forces not to allow anyone to visit the project, besides stepping up security at the temple.
“Keeping in view the heavy festive rush, we have asked the temple officials to deploy luggage scanner,” he said.
He asked to people to inform them if they find people moving suspiciously and added that the additional forces were deployed at the guest houses.
