The Guntur district officials were told to enroll the names of all eligible people as voters without fail
GUNTUR: The Guntur district officials were told to enroll the names of all eligible people as voters without fail and further to create awareness about the importance of voting right among the masses.
Joint collector Vivek Yadav addressed a training programme of constituencies’ election returning officers and additional returning officers here on Sunday. He said that voting is the constitutional right of the public. Hence, election staff should restrain illegalities during voter enrolment and further should give voting right to every eligible person.
Mr Vivek said that another training programme for booth-level officers and other officials would be held on September 23 and added that the Election Commission has appointed two officials to monitor the voter revision process.
He further said that these officials would inspect Guntur district anytime. He directed to remove names of retired government employees from the list of service voters immediately.
