Opposition blasts Telangana CM for attacking media

CM lambasted the media for highlighting lapses pointed out by Metro Rail concessionaire L&T
Hyderabad: The Congress and BJP on Thursday took objection to the TRS government finding fault with the media for highlighting lapses pointed out by Metro Rail concessionaire L&T.
Addressing the media separate, the Opposition parties demanded the government to clarify the issues that were raised by L&T instead of blackmailing the media for presenting facts. TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah said it was the TRS that is creating controversies by changing alignment of the Metro Rail that was conceived and executed by Congress government.
“The CM and the TRS leaders have made it a habit to blackmail media from and are trying to control it,” he said.
At a separate press conference, BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy said it was not proper for the TRS government, and the concessionaire L&T, to bury the differences and blame the media for reporting facts.
Mr Kishan Reddy demanded that both of them should come out with facts by releasing a white paper on the Metro Rail project besides convening a meeting of all party leaders to clarify all issues.
“How can both say that the media has no right to publish the letters? The letters are genuine and the issues are facts. They should have clarified what was being done instead of accusing media,” Mr Kishan Reddy said.
