Padmavati is back with her family

She was found bleeding by a sidewalk in Hyderabad last week, is finally back home
Hyderabad: Seventy-five-year-old Padmavati's six-month ordeal has finally come to an end. Hyderabad Chronicle had written about how two, good samaritans had saved her from the brink last week, and how she was found by a sidewalk in Secunderabad, with maggot-infested wounds.
After a brief stint at a city shelter, she has finally re-united with family. Padmavati is now back home with youngest son, Srinivasa Rao, at Pamarru Mandal, Krishna district. Her nephew, Lali Krishna says, “Six months ago, she just stepped out of the house. From what we gathered, passersby spotted her asking for money so that she could visit her daughter. But she didn’t reach her daughter’s home. Instead, she boarded a bus to Vijayawada.”
Once the family members heard of this, they set out in search of Padmavati. “We didn’t know how to find her. We simply took a bus to Vijayawada. That was the only thing on our mind,” says Krishna.
They asked a few shopkeepers at the bus stop if they had spotted Padmavati. “They told us that they had seen her. She was spotted drinking tea at a stall and after that she had boarded a bus to an unknown location,” adds Krishna.
The family had by then contacted local police to file a missing person’s complaint. After 15 days of a frantic search, the exhausted family gave up hope of ever hearing from Padmavati. Until the report in DC sparked a fresh attempt to find Padmavati’s family.
“After Jasper (the college student who found her) took her to the hospital, a constable spoke to her and found out the names of her sons. He then contacted various police stations across the two states. And after getting in touch with the Pamarru police station, he went a step ahead and contacted the sarpanch of the village and rested only after finding her sons.”
It's still unclear how the 75-year-old ended up in Hyderabad, but for now, Padmavati is back home. More importantly, there’s food and a roof above her head.
