Hyderabad girl sold to Arab in Goa by her mother, brother-in-law, escapes

The minor was sexually exploited by about 15 people

Hyderabad: A 15-year-old girl who was reportedly sold to a Gulf national a week ago allegedly by her mother and brother-in-law escaped from Goa and returned to Hyderabad.

A rights activist, who is sheltering a girl who ran away from her Arab national husband, said the minor was sexually exploited by about 15 people. “She is now mentally unstable,” alleged activist Jaya Vindhyala.

According to Ms Vindhyala, there was already a case against her brother-in-law who had earlier sold his daughter from his first wife to the Arab.

The man, identified as Akbar, had been planning to marry the minor to a Gulf national for a year. According to the victim, she was dropped at the airport by her brother-in-law and mother from where the man took her to Goa. “The girl said when she refused the mother and brother-in-law beat her up. Her condition is not stable. We are taking her to the police station now." said Ms Vindhyala.
