Andhra Pradesh commandos arrest Naxalite couple in Bengaluru

This is not the first time Maoists were found hiding in Bengaluru city

Bengaluru: In a secret operation, Greyhounds - the elite commando force of Andhra Pradesh to combat Left Wing Extremism (LWE), reportedly arrested a couple from the city, who were said to be key members of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist) operating in AP. The names of the suspect Maoists have been identified as Kumar (40) and Lakshmi (35).
According to highly placed sources very few police officers in the city were informed about the operation. "It was purely an operation of the Greyhounds. They were keeping an eye on the movement of the couple for some time. They sought some logistic help from the city police. They took the couple to Andhra Pradesh last night soon after arrest," said an officer on condition of anonymity.
This is not the first time Maoists were found hiding in the city. In 2009 the Greyhounds had arrested Devendrappa alias Vishnu, the then state committee member along with Laxmi alias Geeta, a district committee member and Asha, a district committee secretary from a house them in Peenya police station limits.
