If we are to believe Flipkart and Xiaomi, then they definitely have a possible record in their hands. 120,000 Redmi handsets sold in a mere 12 seconds!
These figures are clubbed from the three flash sales that ran for three weeks. The first flash sale sold 40,000 units in 4.2 seconds. The second and third flash sales also held 40,000 units each and sold in 4.5 seconds and 3.4 seconds respectively.
If Xiaomi were to have a total 120,000 units in one flash sale itself, they would have sold in less than 5 seconds. This average is considering that each sale had more than 300,000 registered customers.
However, the fact could be that Xiaomi cannot manufacture large quantities in a short duration, and ship them in time too. In fact, if Flipkart had to deliver 120,000 units at one time, they would be overloaded anyways. Customers would get delayed deliveries and be furious with Xiaomi and Flipkart, thereafter.
We aren’t biased with Xiaomi or Flipkart. However, logically thinking, would it be possible to deliver more than 300,000 units within a week?
Only Flipkart can answer this question since they know their staff strength and delivery speed.
