Telangana State staff for split as per nativity

Centre seeks proposals from APERC
Hyderabad: With the two new state governments’ announcement making their separate Electricity Regulatory Commissions, the Centre has sought a proposal from the APERC (erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission) to take further necessary action about the existing APERC.
Electricity employees from Telangana, meanwhile, are demanding shifting of the post of officers in APERC to new state ERCs alongwith the officers. They have made a representation to the APERC to shift such posts and remaining state ERC be allowed to create a new post.
Employees of Telang-ana nativity only must be shifted to Telangana state ERC. Also they have said that out of all the officers in the APERC, only one officer is of Telangana na-tivity and hence only one officer should be shifted to Telangana state ERC.
The employees have given a representation to the APERC as well to the Central Electricity Authority, ministry of power at the Centre to consider the fact that the employees of Telangana nativity are on the lower side in the present APERC.
“During the public hearings held last year, it was brought to the notice of the Commi-ssion about the poor representation of Tela-ngana in the strength of employees of the APERC and the APERC chairman had accepted the fact at that time,” said the letter.
As per the representation, a provisional list of the employees, with the nativity details must be posted in public domain, inviting objections.
“In the commission, all the officer posts are ‘stand-alone’ posts. In respect of the posts of the officers, based on the nativity of the officer holding the post, the post along with the officer holding the post must be shifted to the concerned state ERC and the remaining state ERC must be allowed to create a new post. As per the information gathered by TEEJAC, out of all the officers in APERC, only one officer is of Telangana nativity. In respect of lower cadre posts, employees must be allotted to the respective state ERCs, purely based on their nativity,” as per the letter.
Also they have asked for options to be limited to cases like spouse working in central or state government organisations, employees suffering from chronic diseases since a long time, physically disabled employees and single women.
