Telangana, Andhra Pradesh Chief Ministers should talk, resolve issues: Rajnath Singh

Home Minister asked both CMs to sit together resolve issues

New Delhi: Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Friday advised Chief Ministers of Telangana and AP to hold frequent dialogues to resolve contentious issues that arise out of the bifurcation. Mr Singh said at a press conference here that the Union government has taken both Chief Ministers into confidence while implementing the issues that have been listed in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

"There are some differences between the states. I asked both CMs to sit together and discuss and infact the CMs have met and resolved certain issues. I want to congratulate both the CMs. I feel they should meet frequently and resolve pending issues," he said.

He also said issues emerging due to bifurcation have so far been resolved amicably to the satisfaction of all the stakeholders and that due respect and sensitivity has been shown to the concerns of the people to resolve issues of mutual concern.

The Minister said he had discussed with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao about the blacking out of two channels in Telangana region.
