Kochi: A pastor was arrested for alleged sexual assault of a minor girl at Vadatupara near Kothamangalam on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Devarajan (64), a resident of Prasanna Vilasam, Chullimanoor, Nedumanagad, Thiruvananthapuram.
The accused was serving as a pastor of a Church at Colonypadi in Vadatupara since last three years. The nine-year-old minor girl in her complaint lodged though the Child Welfare committee charged that the pastor asked her to accompany him to a room while she was playing with her friends on the Church premises in July.
“She claimed that the accused then sexually assaulted her ignoring her repeated pleas and threatened to kill her upon revealing. He then used to harass her repeatedly for close to two months, often exhibiting himself after taking her to secluded places,” police said.
