Students of NIT Srinagar pursuing B tech have been rescued and shifted to Ladakh

Visakhapatnam: Nearly 48 students (Telugus) of various parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, including a few from Vizag district are stranded in flood-affected Jammu and Kashmir. The 48 are students of NIT Srinagar pursuing BTech in various branches and were rescued and shifted to Ladakh. After receiving information from a victim’s family, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his team responded and the minister geared up to airlifting the students. They are likely to reach Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
B. Rohit, native of Chodavaram in Vizag told this correspondent over phone that around 48 students all hailing from AP and Telangana were stuck in Kashimir. He said presently they were safe at Ladakh but have little money to return home.
“The rescue teams informed that they will arrange a special flight for Delhi and from there we don’t kn-ow how to reach Vizag,” he added. Like Rohit, several students are waiting for government help to return home.
