Bombay Velvet in dire straits

It seems Anurag Kashyap is not happy with a major chunk and wants to reshoot

Mumbai: The shooting of Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet wrapped up a few months ago. But word is that the director is not pleased with a large chunk of the film. According to reliable sources, Anurag is contemplating reshooting that portion. The delay in the release of the film has already led to some losses. To get fresh dates from actors Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma and re-shoot will add further losses. Talking about Anurag’s passion for perfection, a member of the supporting cast, says, “Anurag won’t release the film until he is 100 per cent sure about it. We might have taken a while to finish the film. But it’s better to make a good film than release it in a hurry.”
The actors refused to divulge any details about the reshoot. But neither the filmmaker nor any member of the cast has denied that the film has gone over budget. “When you have a director like Anurag and an actor like Ranbir in a film, budget is never a major concern. The focus is on maintaining the standard they have set with their earlier films,” says a close source.
With Jagga Jasoos, Roy and Tamasha taking up most of Ranbir’s time, getting more dates from him might be a task. But looks like Anurag is in no mood to alter his stance.
