Necklace Road turns dangerous

HMDA engineers say the work will resume after Ganesh Chaturthi
Hyderabad: The Necklace Road stretch along the Railway line from the Indira Gandhi statue to Sanjeevaiah Parkhas has become dangerous for motorbike riders. The HMDA authorities had said that the road will be repaired and black topping will be done by August- end. But sadly, only the dug up portion is covered and the rest is in a bad state.
“Forget about a pleasant planned ride on this road where we used to come a lot earlier when it was a lovely place. Since a few months the road has become difficult to drive,” said Yuva Naresh, an employee.
This road was dug up earlier this year in order to lay bigger sewerage lines, water pipelines and electric cable lines. Authorities say that the road laying work is delayed because of the Ganesh festival.
“We finished laying the pipelines within the deadline but could not finish laying the roads again and had to stop for a while because of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. The work will resume in 2-3 days and will take a month to be back in shape,” said Krishna Rao, HMDA executive engineer.
