Complaints galore at Prajavani programme

The Collector instructed the district panchayat officer to initiate action

Rajahmundry: West Godavari Collector K. Bhaskar directed the officials to initiate steps to solve the problems of the people when they approached them and cautioned them of action if they failed to respond properly while taking part in Prajavani programme here on Monday.

One N. Kasi Sankar hailing from Bangarugudem submitted a representation to the Collector stating that they were getting drain water from the drinking water pipelines in the last 20 days at Bangarugudem gram panchayat of Tadepalligudem mandal and added that though the panchayat secretary was informed about it, the secretary failed to solve the issue. Responding to it, the Collector instructed the district panchayat officer to initiate action against the panchayat secretary for failing to act upon the problems of the people.

When several people complained about illegal digging out of fish tanks, the Collector wondered as to why the fisheries officials were failing to act and directed them to implement G.O No. seven strictly and warned action against the official apathy.

Residents of division no. 28 S.K. Sattar, B. Sanyasi Rao and others sought the intervention of the Coll-ector by saying that some people were rearing pigs under the bridge at Ashok Nagar and waste from the chicken centres was being dumped from the bridge resulting due to which bad smell was emanating from the area. Responding to it, Collector directed the officials to shift the pigs to the outskirts of the town and serve notices on the owners of chicken centres for doing so.

The Collector said that they were receiving a large number of representations pertaining to sanction of pensions under several categories like old age, widow and disabled and also the land related issues and instructed the officials to look into such issues and resolve them expeditiously.
