Saradha scam: Kunal Gosh accuses Mamata Banerjee, says she benefited most

New Delhi: The suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh on Saturday demanded that he should be jointly interrogated with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Saradha scam kingpin Sudipta Sen so that his contentions can be corroborated and the truth behind the scam is unraveled.
Ghosh, one of the main accused in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam, earlier prayed before a city court that he should be questioned along with Sudipta Sen and Mamata Banerjee.
Another TMC leader Firhad Hakim said Mamata Banerjee is a leader of the masses and "the people are behind her".
"She is a symbol of honesty," Hakim, also state urban development minister, said.
Meanwhile, the Congress said that those involved in the Saradha scam should be exposed irrespective of their political affiliations.
"We want those involved in the Saradha scam to be exposed. It should not be seen who belongs to TMC, who belongs to Congress or who belongs to CPI-M. There should be equal justice irrespective of their political affiliation," WBPCC president Adhir Chowdhury told reporters here.

In a video testimonial shot prior to his arrest in November last year, the suspended MP claimed that the CM met Saradha boss Sudipta Sen at Kalimpong in March 2012 on the sidelines of an official tour to Darjeeling district.

Ghosh has repeatedly alleged that the entire Trinamool Congress top leadership was aware of the Saradha Group's nefarious activities and that they cannot absolve themselves of the blame.

Reacting to Ghosh's sensational demand, West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chaterjee said, "Now that he has realised that he may be subjected to punishment by law anytime for his wrongdoings, he is trying to take the CM's name in a futile attempt to save himself."
