Hyderabad: Senior actor Rajendra Prasad will play the lead role in the Telugu remake of Tamil film Saivam. The Tamil film was directed by A.L. Vijay with Nasser playing the lead. The Telugu version will be directed by Malineni Radhakrishna and produced by Krish Jagarlamudi. Some sections of the media reported that Krish will direct the film, but he is only producing it.
“Krish and Tamil director Vijay have been friends for a long time now and Krish liked the film and when he wanted to acquire the rights for the Telugu remake, Vijay readily agreed. Krish is not directing the film as he is busy with his Hindi film Gabbar,” says a source. The Tamil film won critical acclaim and director Vijay was greatly appreciated for it. The makers will start working on the Telugu version soon.
