K Chandrasekhar Rao to discuss pending issues

KCR would also seek national project status for Pranahita Chevella irrigation project

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who will be in Delhi on Saturday, will also call on a host of Union ministers, including Rajnath Singh, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Ravishanker Prasad and Smriti Irani, to discuss pending issues.

Mr Rao left for New Delhi on a two-day visit on Friday evening along with Telangana Rashtra Samiti secretary-general and MP Dr K. Kesava Rao, party MP B. Vinod Kumar, political secretary to CM Subhash Reddy and others.

Besides inviting Mr Modi for the conference, the Chief Minister would also seek Central assistance in increasing power generation to meet the shortfall of nearly 4,000 MW by setting up 2,000 MW NTPC power plant besides other power projects in the state.

Telangana is reeling under acute power shortage which has hit agriculture, industry and other sectors and decided to seek Centre help in a big way to over come the power shortfall.

KCR would also seek national project status for Pranahita Chevella irrigation project, inclusion of 9 district headquarters barring Hyderabad in the State in the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi
proposed 100 smart cities in the country.

The Chief Minister will follow up the pending issues of the State.

The State will seek Centre support for the all-round development of the State and also implementation of promises made to the State in the A P Reorganisation Act. The Government has already submitted a list of issues to the Prime Minister in the past and will early redressel, Vinod Kumar told Deccan Chronicle.

CM would request the Prime Minister to speed up the distribution of All India Service officers to Telangana in view of administrative problems and delay in implementation of the various welfare schemes especially waiver of Rs one lakh farm loan to farmers, two bed room houses for weaker sections, 3 acres land for poor dalits and other electoral promises.
