Governor satisfied with police preparedness

Governor has expressed satisfaction with the law and order measures taken by both governments

Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Friday held a high-level review meeting with police officials of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states in the wake of reported threats from external terror organisations like the al-Qaeda.

Raj Bhavan communiqué said that the Governor has expressed satisfaction with the law and order measures being addressed by both the state governments’ security agencies in tackling such threats.

Various issues, which have a bearing on security, were discussed and the security agencies of both the states have been sensitised and fully geared up.

Security will be beefed up at sensitive locations. Alerts will be issued to all the concerned field formations.

There has been exchange of intelligence inputs among agencies of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well as the Central Intelligence Bureau.

Advisors to the AP Gover-nor P.V.N. Sarma, A.K. Moha-nty, DGP (Telangana) Anurag Sarma, Addl DGP Intelligence (AP) A.R. Anuradha, Hyderabad police commissioner Mahender Reddy, Cyberabad commissioner C.V. Anand, IGP Intelligence (Telangana) V. Sajjanar, DIG (SIB-AP) Madhusudan Reddy and Central Intelligence Bureau joint-director Madan Mohan were present during the review.

DGP (AP) J.V. Ramudu could not make it to the meeting due to illness.
