Another movement on Telangana in Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's agenda

Everyone should participate to reconstruct Bangaru Telangana dream, asserts KCR

Hyderabad: Stating that Telangana was in a transition phase, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said another massive public movement on the lines of the Telangana movement was needed for the reconstruction of the new state.

“Telangana is in a transitional phase. Like the massive public participation during the Telangana movement, there is a need for a massive participation of people in the movement for re-construction of Telangana. Everyone should contribute for realising the Bangaru Telangana dream,” he said.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a function at Telangana Bhavan to welcome senior Telugu Desam leader and former minister, Tummala Nageswara Rao and host of TD leaders from Khammam district into the party fold. Khammam strongman Mr Nageswara Rao brought with him 400 elected representatives, almost 80 per cent of the TD leaders from the district, into the TRS.

TD MLC Balasani Laxminarayana, ZP chairperson Kavita, DCCB chairman Vijay Babu, DCMS chairman Anjaiah, 18 ZPTCs, 18 MPPs, 168 MPTCs, 165 sarpanches, former Nalgonda MLA Chander Rao were among those who joined the party.

“Mr Tummala Nageswara Rao is a close friend and we were the founder members of Telugu Desam when it was launched by NTR in 1982. He is a dynamic leader with an impeccable record. Khammam will be developed in all aspects under his leadership. Let’s put politics aside and focus on development,” he remarked.

Promising to make the best of the huge natural resources available in Khammam district, the Chief Minister told the gathering that SAIL has agreed to set up a Rs 30,000 crore steel plant in Byyaram mine area, with state share of Rs 2,000 crore. The steel factory would provide jobs to nearly 10,000 people, he said.

“Some people have maligned Byyram iron ore, but tests have proved that the iron ore was one of the best and SAIL has decided to set up the plant,” he said.

Promising to develop Khammam district, Mr Rao said plans were afoot to set up a medical college at Kothagudem, a corporate hospital, irrigation project. “I promise to visit Khammam district soon and ensure development of the district in all spheres,” he added.
