Governor talks security issues with top Andhra Pradesh, Telangana officials

Security would be tightened at sensitive locations as per threat perception and alerts

Hyderabad, Telangana: The common Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ESL Narasimhan on Friday held a meeting with top police officials of both the states to discuss the preparedness of security agencies following reports of threats to the country from international terror outfits.

"A meeting was held at Raj Bhavan today to discuss the preparedness of security agencies in the context of some external organisation's designs to foment trouble," a press release from Raj Bhavan said here.

The Advisors to the Governor, the Director Generals of Police, Addl DGs Intelligence of both AP and Telangana as well as City Commissioners Hyderabad and Cyberabad were present, it added.

Security would be tightened at sensitive locations as per the threat perception and alerts issued to all the concerned field formations, the release said.

"The various issues which have a bearing on security were discussed and the security agencies of both the states are sensitised and fully geared up. Security will be beefed up at sensitive locations in line with threat perceptions. Alerts will be issued to all the concerned field formations.

"There has been exchange of intelligence among agencies of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well as the intelligence bureau. The Governor has expressed satisfaction at the all-round preparedness," it said.
