Naidu tried to pacify north Andhra and Rayalaseema people

Hyderabad: In a bid to pacify north Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, which lost out on the capital, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu showered a slew of projects on the 13 districts of the state and said there would be decentralised development.

Every district is promised a hardware and electronics park and the state will have three megacities and 14 smart cities. Industrial corridors will be spread across 12 districts with eight cluster nodes.

Mr Naidu also said the state can be the logistics gateway for the country if 10 seaports adding to the existing four are developed.

Speaking in the Assembly on Thursday, Mr Naidu said that coastal areas always have the highest scope for development and that the government will take on a decentralised approach to development. He said he had planned to adopt the same approach in the erstwhile state but his party lost power. Naidu said the government has conducted comprehensive studies of conditions, potential and growth patterns of each district and formulated district plans to improve the economy and GSDP of each district. “Comprehensive development should happen. Development should not be limited to one city. We will take up develop according to specific strengths of each district,” Naidu said. He has promised an electronics and hardware park in every district of the state. “Japan has promised investment of 36 billion USD in India,” Naidu stated.

He also announced a mega food park in every district of the state. Three cities viz. Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati will get metro rails.
