Change of plan: BJP President Amit Shah to meet Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai: Clearing the uncertainty over Amit Shah and Uddhav Thackeray meet, the BJP on Thursday afternoon announced that Mr Shah will be visiting Matoshri, Thackeray family residence late in the evening. The party also clarified that the decision was taken after Uddhav personally called upon him yesterday.

"There was alot if guessing in media over meeting between Amit bhai and Uddhavji. But talks were on between the alliance partners. Mr Shah has now decided to accept the invitation of Uddhavji and both the leaders will meet in the evening," Mr Tawde announced.

Mr Shah would visit Matoshri at 9.30pm in the evening after addressing party gathering at Shanmukhananda Hall, informed Mr Tawde.

The BJP president would also oay respect at the memorial of Bal Thackeray, late Shiv Sena chief at Shivaji Park.

According to the BJP sources, after failed attempts of Shiv Sena leaders to save face of the party, Uddhav called upon Mr Shah inviting him personally to visit at his residence.

State BJP leaders have already said that Mr Shah would not meet Uddhav as there was no need for the meeting at this point of time.
