WB govt issued orders appointing Mr Gandhi as adviser to state on forensic science

Hyderabad: Following criticism due to West Bengal’s inability to handle forensics investigations into sexual assault related cases, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has hired city-based forensic expert and former director of the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory K.P.C. Gandhi.

The West Bengal government issued orders appointing Mr Gandhi as the adviser to state on forensic science. The order said he will be a ‘state guest’ and he has to reorganise the state FSL and as built 19 regional FSLs and give training to the staff.

Mr Gandhi will be working for next few years with the West Bengal government. Meanwhile, Mr Gandhi said he also has plans to set up Truth Labs in Vijayawada in the Andhra area.
