Learning from mistakes?

Bioware’s news surrounding Dragon Age: Inquisition left many fans unhappy
Hyderabad: Bioware announced that Dragon Age: Inquisition, one of the most anticipated games of the year, will have a co-op multiplayer mode. Up until now Bioware’s forte has been in the evolution of the narrative, be it the Mass Effect trilogy or even Star Wars: The Old Republic. Their last multiplayer venture with Mass Effect 3, however, left many fans with a bad taste in the mouth.
This was because of the strange decision to include the Multiplayer mode as a necessary mode that would end up affecting the story. This led to many players getting stuck with the worst possible ending as their “galactic readiness” scores were cut in half towards the end of the game for not playing enough multiplayer.
Now, it seems that Bioware has learnt from their previous mistake and have made the Co-op mode in Inquisition independent of the Single Player campaign. There will be no crossover between the two modes in terms of essential requirements; Bioware have assured the gaming community.
The Co-op multiplayer is set up as dungeon crawler for groups of four to plough through and on the way collect epic loot. This sounds more akin to Gears of War’s Horde mode (minus the loot) and could be a lot of fun.
There is an elephant in the room though, and that is Microtransactions. Even though Bioware has promised that no content will be hidden in the multiplayer version of the game, players will be able to buy in game premium currency called “Platinum”.
This feature threatens to ruin the game mode for gamers as it reminds us of the dreaded real money life gem system plaguing the mobile game world right now.
