Panel hints at Rayalaseema stir in residuary state of Andhra Pradesh

Committee gave a pat to the CM for choosing Kurnool as its Independence Day venue

Hyderabad: The Committee has indirectly cautioned the AP government that any hasty step to decide on the capital will result in agitations for statehood in Rayalaseema.

The Committee had visited Rayalaseema districts and found out that the apprehension still prevails in Rayalaseema that even in the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh, one or two parts only will be the favoured for the governmental activities attracting numerous investments, the committee noted in its report.

The Committee gave a pat to the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for choosing Kurnool as its Independence Day venue. “The Committee encourages the AP government to follow up on these promises,” said the report.
