India Super League: Del Piero signs up with zynamos

Kochi: Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters will conduct their first training session at the Corporation Stadium in Thrissur after ‘Thiruvonam’ that falls on September 7.
All the domestic recruits with the exception of three, including East Bengal's Gurwinder Singh will attend the first session. Young defender Sandesh Jhingan with India U-23 that is on an exposure tour of China, ahead of the Asian Games is expected to report for training on Sept. 12.
Coach Morgan is likely to return from his tour of Australia by Sept. 3 and the foreign players including former England junior international Michael Chopra are expected to land by mid September.
While the signing of Italy and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero to the Delhi Dynamos has lit up the debut season of ISL a source close to the Blasters management confirmed their business is principally done.
The transfer window shuts in two days and several big names in international football, including Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho are rumoured to join ISL. However, the Blasters are seemingly happy with the acquisition of veteran James as their only marquee signing.

As earlier reported by this newspaper it has been confirmed that the Blasters squad will be devoid of homegrown players. Former East Bengal man Sushanth Mathew and Mohun Bagan's C S Sabeeth are the only Malayali presence in the squad.
