Yuva Morcha march against Beverages Corporation outlet turns violent

Kottayam: The Bharathiya Janatha Yuva Morcha march on Friday to the Beverages Corporation outlet, demanding its closure till the day of Chathayam, ended in a scuffle between police and the Morcha activists near the KSRTC bus stand. Police sources said that West sub inspector TR Jiju was injured and four activists were taken into custody. The activists reportedly started a brawl with three police personnel deputed in front of the outlet while trying to barge in and close the shop forcefully. Soon more police force reached the spot. Some of the activists were injured in the lathi charge that ensued, police said.
