Telangana state to build Haj House for Telangana's pilgrims

Telangana will built a Haj House not only to the pilgrims but to their relatives who come to send them off

Hyderabad: Telangana state Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Thursday announced that the government will construct a new Haj House at a suitable place to provide accommodation not only to the pilgrims but to their relatives who come to send them off. Addressing the media after reviewing the arrangements at the Telangana state Haj Committee Office here, he said that Rs 2 crore allocated to the committee to make arrangements for the Haj pilgrims of Haj 2014.

The Deputy CM said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao may visit Saudi Arabia to ensure proper accommodation for Haj pilgrims as Rubaths (Guest Houses), which were constructed by the former rulers of Hyderabad. He said that the CM also planning to the King of Saudi Arabia and other Ministers to sort out the problem with regard to Rubaths.

Referring demolition of Rubaths by the Saudi government for expansion at Mecca, he said that the Telangana government will not insist on payment of compensation for the demolished Rubaths but urge for construction of new Rubaths in their place. He said the Haj Camp, scheduled to commence on September 12 and the first flight will take off on September 14, and in this Haj season 18 chartered flights will leave for Jeddah. Earlier, MJ Akbar special officer of the Wakf Board explained the deputy CM through a power point presentation on steps being initiated to protect the Wakf properties.
