Mumbai: Samsung Electronics on August 28 announced the launch of the sNX mini, an interchangeable-lens camera in India, which will be available exclusively through Amazon.in as part of a strategic partnership.

The latest addition to the NX series, NX Mini SMART camera sports a 1-inch 20MP BSI CMOS sensor and features like Wink Shot and Baby Monitor. On the connectivity front, it has Wi-fi and NFC that allows the NX mini to pair with NFC-enabled devices, such as smartphones or tablets, simply by touching the two together.
Once paired, users can:
- Select and transfer multiple images to the paired mobile devices through Mobile Link;
- Send images to up to four devices with Group Share, eliminating the time-consuming and repetitive process of sending pictures to multiple friends;
- Control the NX mini via a smartphone with Remote View Finder Pro;
- Use the camera as a Baby Monitor. When noise is detected, the paired smartphone is activated via an app, allowing parents to see if they need to attend to their child.
- Advanced NFC and Wi-Fi connectivity brings additional functionality to the NX Mini. The brand new ‘Tag & Go’ feature allows the camera to connect to smartphones by simply tapping the two devices together
- NX Mini camera and smartphones work in tandem, enabling features such as Photo Beam, which instantly transfers images being viewed on the camera to the paired smartphone
- AutoShare saves your photos to your camera and smartphone as you shoot

The NX mini weighs 158g (body only) and sports an ultra slim (22.5mm) design. The camera features a solid premium metal body with a luxurious leathery finish. Available in five different colours (white, black, brown, green and pink) in India, users can choose the colour that best suits their style.
With a 75.2mm (3.0-inch) Flip up and Touch Display that flips 180-degrees and an ultra-slim 9mm wide angle lens, users can frame images of themselves perfectly, capture group shots from an arm’s length away and easily be a part of those. The NX mini features a 6fps Continuous Shot mode with 1/16000 second shutter speed.
Additionally, NX mini allows images to be uploaded directly from the camera to the cloud for an easy storage solution. Users can also upload their pictures directly from the NX mini to both Dropbox and Flickr. Dropbox provides 2GB of free storage to users, accessible from just about any device and with Flickr, users can upload up to a terabyte of images.
Specialised NX-M Lenses
Samsung has introduced three NX mini lenses (NX-M), which are optimised for use with the NX mini body, providing a variety of options to meet individual shooting preferences.
•The NX-M 9mm F3.5 ED lens has an ultra-slim design and its wide angle makes it the ideal choice for those capturing landscapes and self-portraits. This lens also provides the optimum angle for taking selfies.
•The NX-M9-27mm F3.5-5.6 ED OIS lens is a micro-compact zoom lens with a stylish design and is small enough to comfortably fit in pockets and bags. This compact-sized standard zoom lens offers a variety of shooting options from wide-angle to telephoto shots, with optical image stabilization for sharp results.
Pricing and Availability
The Samsung NX mini comes with a 16 GB Memory Card and is now available in India at a special launch price of Rs 22,990 (9mm Lens) and Rs 27,490 (9-27mm Lens) on Amazon. As a launch offer, customers will also get a Samsung Backpack worth Rs 1,999 free along with the Camera.
