Update: Xiaomi Redmi 1S will have a flash sale, Mi 3 sales on hold
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi 1S will have a flash sale, similar to the lines of the Mi 3 handsets we have seen in the last six episodes.
Xiaomi said that the Mi 3 handset sales are on hold for now since they are presently focussing on the Redmi 1S and is heavily stocking on products in India. When asked about how many handsets are expected to be on sale on 2nd September, the company responded that they will announce it officially on their Facebook page.
The Xiaomi Redmi 1S was announced for a price of Rs 6,999. However, Xiaomi has reduced the price for India to Rs 5,999. Registrations are presently open on Flipkart and the sale will begin on 2nd September at 2 PM.

Earlier, we did report that the Redmi 1S will not have a flash sale. However, the story carried leaked information about 50 handsets being shipped into the country. This was before the blogger’s meet by Xiaomi in Bangalore and Delhi. The handsets were to be given away as review units to the bloggers and were not for sale.
Coming back to the Mi 3 sales, Xiaomi has not commented on when the next sale will commence, or if there will be any handsets on sale on Flipkart. We are waiting for more official statements for the same from Xiaomi.
