Andhra Pradesh assembly: Suspended MLAs did not leave House, chaos went on

The speaker disallowed YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to conclude his speech
Hyderabad: Chaotic scenes emerged once again in the Andhra Pradesh assembly with the Opposition demanding that more time be given to their leader. The speaker, however, disallowed Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to conclude his speech, saying that he had already spoken for more than the time allotted, leading to protests.
YSRC members, who constitute the only Opposition, trooped to the Well of the House and squatted there, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the House. Proceedings turned even more chaotic after the House resumed as the Opposition leaders surrounded the Speaker’s podium and one of the protesting YSRC legislators, M. Mani Gandhi, snatched the microphone. They also raised slogans of the “Speaker’s vengeful attitude”.
Upon resumption, finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said, “It is very unfortunate to see YSRC members attacking the Speaker. The MLAs should be suspended.”
The Speaker suspended YSRC legislators Mani Gandhi and R. Sivaprasad Reddy for the rest of the Session.
However, the Opposition continued its demand and the suspended MLAs refused to leave the House even as the Treasury benches lashed out at Mr Reddy, blaming him for the stalling of the House.
When even three adjournments couldn’t bring the House to order, the Speaker adjourned the Assembly to Wednesday.
Later suspended leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy told media persons in the lobbies that he had not made any derogatory remarks against the Speaker.
