Cash incentive for security forces likely for thwarting terror

Paramilitary forces involved in anti-Naxal operations will get benefited
New Delhi: The Union government is working on an ambitious plan now to offer cash incentive to security forces involved in counter terror operations.
Sources said there was a view within the government that the monetary incentive will motivate the security personnel even more to engage with subversive elements. Cash benefits would be given to security personnel involved in thwarting infiltration attempts, eliminating terrorists in an operation or even leading to major arrests and recovery of huge cache arms and ammunition.
The benefit, sources added, will also be extended to paramilitary forces involved in anti-Naxal operations.
At a time when Pakistan has stepped up violence along the LoC and the International Border, the BSF, is all set to enhance its weaponry in the form of over 700 pieces of automated mortar firing systems. This is a part of the BSF’s ambitious plans to modernise its war stores.
According to a blueprint, the force is also planning to modernise the medium-range guns and other mortar shelling weapons in its possession and these need to be put on a digital and electronic platform on the lines of the Army so that in any exigency or emergency the force could respond effectively.
