Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami man suspect in Hyderabad serial blast flees

The accused was scheduled to appear before a special court judge in Mumbai
Hyderabad: An alleged Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami operative, Sheikh Abdul Naeem, escaped from a running train near Kharsia station in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district when all six members of an escort team of West Bengal police were sleeping. The accused was scheduled to appear before a special court judge in Mumbai on Monday. Naeem, 33, is a suspect in the 2007 Hyderabad serial blasts case.
However, his role is yet to be confirmed in the ongoing probe. He was allegedly caught with a huge cache of explosives. “The accused who was facing trial for waging war against the country was reportedly not handcuffed while being escorted to Mumbai by the West Bengal police team comprising a sub-inspector and five constables,” a West Bengal police official said. Police has launched a manhunt across Raigarh and neighbouring districts to nab the suspect after the Government Railway Police at Raigarh registered an FIR.
