Hyderabad: Following the Telangana government, the Andhra Pradesh government has also decided to extend the fee reimbursement scheme only to locals.
A memo to this effect was issued by the Andhra Pradesh government on Sunday stating that the scheme would extended to students who were locals of Andhra Pradesh as per the Presidential Order, irrespective of whether they would study in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.
Senior officials termed this as the first round of clarity and said they would come out with further directions after the Telangana government came out with the guidelines of its FAST scheme.
Till recently, AP government officials had said that there was no need for an executive order on the issue of fee reimbursement since the existing scheme was being continued. However, with the allotment orders of reimbursement to be provided, a memo was issued.
