Uproar in Andhra Pradesh Assembly as Jagan Mohan Reddy refuses to relent

Hyderabad: YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly walked out on Saturday raising allegations of corruption by members of the ruling party.
Telugu Desam leaders also persisted with their demand for him to withdraw the unparliamentary remark that he made on Friday in the Assembly. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy also said that Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao was not acting impartially and was not allowing them to speak though he gave ample time to ruling party members. He termed the proceedings in the Assembly on Saturday as “murder of democracy”.
Utter chaos prevailed in the Assembly in the morning after the Question Hour as the debate on law and order in the state resumed.
Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao adjourned the AP House for 15 minutes. Chaotic scenes continued after the break as well with TD MLA G. Butchaiah Chowdary saying that former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had encouraged the land mafia, sand mafia, white collar crimes and red sanders smugglers tainting law and order.
Objecting to this, Mr Jagan said, “This is complete murder of democracy in broad daylight. A member is making false statements and is being given more time by the Speaker.”
Reacting to this, the Speaker warned Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy that he cannot make allegations against the Chair.
“The Leader of the Opposition is making allegations against the Speaker which is incorrect. Unparliamentary words will be expunged,” Kodela said. Amid protests, Speaker Kodela again reiterated the same as the opposition walked out of the Assembly.
Immediately after walking out, YSRC MLAs led by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy protested near the Gandhi statue in the Assembly precincts. He said that the Speaker did not object when TD lawmakers used unparliamentary words 19 times. He said that the Speaker called him “irresponsible” and added this word is also unparliamentary.
He said that they are protesting outside the Assembly as they did not get a chance to raise their voice inside. Demanding a probe on 14 murders that took place after TD came to power, Jagan wanted severe punishment for the culprits. He said the Speaker was not acting impartially and has been attending TD meetings also.
