Minster says outcome of liquor ban should not be marred by unnecessary controversies

MALAPPURAM: The positive outcome of a good decision on liquor ban should not be marred by unnecessary controversies, said Industry Minister PK Kunhalikutty here on Saturday. He said the decision itself was a social reform. "Who will bag the credit for the decision is a non-issue. We must end unnecessary debates on such a momentous decision”, he said.
The decision was the result of concerns shared by Gandhian organizations, political leaders and anti-liquor campaigns by various people’s collectives. “The decision was taken unanimously by UDF in which the Chief Minister and leaders of all constituents played their part”, he added.
