Khammam: A section of the Telugu Desam leaders, who lost hope of the TD coming to power in Telangana, are exerting pressure on former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao to join the Telangana Rashtra Samiti because of prevailing conditions in the state.
The recent meeting of Tummala with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in a marriage function in Hyderabad has led to assertion that Tummala would be joining the ruling party. The former minister’s associates B. Nageswara Rao, Jakkampudi Krishna Murthy and others were in favour of Tummala joining the TRS.
When asked about it, Mr Nageswa Rao said that it is a fact that he and Telangana Chief Minister met at a function in Hyderabad. “It is also true that KCR asked me to join the TRS. But, I simply told him that I will take a decision in a slow and steady manner,” he said. On the other hand, YSRC MP P. Srinivasa Reddy, who has close association with Tummala advised him to join the TRS.
