Ceasefire violations: Defence Minister Arun Jaitley condemns killing of civilians by Pak troops

Pakistan ceasefire violations on the rise, says Jaitley

Visakhapatnam: Defence minister Arun Jaitley strongly condemned the killing of two civilians by Pak troops in the R S Pura sector of Jammu. Talking to reporters here on Saturday after commissioning the first indigenously built stealth Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette INS Kamorta, Jaitley said, “Its condemnable that the Pak troops killed civilians. Killing civilians during war itself is condemnable act and such an incident during the time of peace and ceasefire is worst. Its highly condemnable.”

To another query, the defence minister said that the ceasefire violations by Pakistan are increasing. However, the BSF and the army guarding the LOC and the international border are effectively working and countering those acts.

“They are vigilant and effectively responding to each violation,” he added. He further said that, PSUs and the industries in the private sector should work in competitive manner which will help the indigenization of the defence sector. He assured support for the ailing Vizag based defence PSU, Hindustan Shipyard Ltd.
