If people give me bulls**t, I give it right back to them: Bipasha Basu

The actress talks about her problem with her last movie, Humshakkals and more
After the debacle of Humshakkals, Bipasha Basu is back with Creature 3D. From a slapstick comedy, a horror film is quite a jump for her. But it’s nothing compared to the horror she faced with Humshakkals and director Sajid Khan.
Trust issues with Sajid
“In the 13-14 years of my acting career, I have never had a more humiliating experience than Humshakkals. It was not the producers or the actors. The energy was just wrong. The problem was trust. You get into a film with a lot of trust and if you are actually doing nothing, you could be like a chair in the film. I do not think I need to go through that at this stage of my life,” says the actress.
Bipasha, however, denies that Sajid misbehaved with her on the sets. “He never misbehaved with me because no one can misbehave with me. I will set people right that second itself. I am a very hot-headed girl. If people give me bullshit, I give it right back to them,” she ads.
On marriage
“I will definitely get married. Right now, the whole world is becoming like my mother. I suddenly feel like I have one million mothers who ask me this same question over and over again. The world will definitely come to know. I will tell them when it happens. Till then, just wait and watch!”
About her relationship with Harman Baweja, Bipasha says that she wants to take it one step at a time. “I’m in a happy space right now. Harman’s films may not have done well but that doesn’t affect our relationship. He has been working on a few other things and I’m sure that’ll work out for him,” she says as she taps on wood. “Our relationship is not based on our respective careers or the bank balance. We both believe that respect, trust and love are the foundation of a successful relationship and marriage. Happiness is not based on what size of diamond you wear,” says Bipasha.
Pakistan co-star
On working with Pakistani actor Imraan, Bipasha says, “We roamed about a lot in Ooty and even played ludo when we were free. Apart from acting, we also talked about the two countries. We come to know how much love we get in Pakistan, they love Bollywood.
“He would bring tasty mithais for us. He also brought some salwar-kurtas for us when he came back the second time. There was a lot of give and take of culture of both the countries on the sets.
“I love the way he spoke. I always told him to keep speaking and would love to listen to him. He is an intelligent actor.”
She adds, “Ooty is like my second home. I have shot all my horror films there. I feel comfortable in the place now.”
Known as a ‘horror’ girl now
Coming back to Creature 3D and her penchant for doing horror films, Bipasha says, “This is something new that I am getting to hear — ‘Goddess Of Fear’ and ‘hot’. I do not understand ‘hot’… I feel I am like some food. But I do not want the tag of a ‘horror girl’, it really sounds bad.”
“Every shot had to be taken thrice for the film, because of the special effects of the ‘creature’. As it is, a 3D film is very difficult. You cannot change a lot of the lenses in a 3D camera and they have to be tuned every time. So it was very time consuming,” adds Bipasha.
Focused girl
But the triple shots taught Bipasha something she did not know about herself. “I have realised that I am a focused girl. It taught me patience. The first three days I was getting irritated thinking why is it taking so long? This film is definitely a step forward, the special effects are fantastic. In fact, I feel it is great to do such special effects within this budget in India.”
