Kerala High Court cancels notice on plea against plus-two order

Schools recommended by the six-member committee can start Plus-Two courses and additional batches
Kochi: Justice P. R. Ramachandra Menon of Kerala High Court on Thursday cancelled the notice issued to the cabinet sub-committee on a plea challenging the controversial decision to issue a fresh list of Plus-Two schools after the sub-committee made changes to the list prepared by the six-member committee appointed by the state government.
It is learnt that the government pleader failed to point out that the sub-committee was a party in the case. Sources pointed out that normally the government advocates will get instructions in such cases rather than opting for notices.
The High Court on Monday had made it clear that only the schools recommended by the six-member committee can start Plus-Two courses and additional batches this year. The court issued notices on a plea filed by Perikkalloor Government Higher Secondary School in Wayanad. The petitioners challenged the fresh list published by the cabinet sub-committee surpassing a six-member committee head by Higher Secondary Education Director.
