Jayalalitha boosts cadres’ morale for win in Tamil Nadu assembly polls

Chennai: Aiming to repeat, her party’s impressive victory in the Lok Sabha elections in the coming assembly polls, AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa called upon her party members to gear up for the assembly election and post victory.

Utilising the occasion of solemnising the marriages of her party members’ wards at YMCA grounds, Royapettah, here on Wednesday Ms Jayalalithaa who piloted her party to a spectacular victory securing 37 out of 39 Lok Sabha seats, asked them to strive with “self-confidence” and “achieve victory”.

“Life is meant for living. There may be numerous obstacles in life. But hurdles are part and parcel of life. It is not possible to achieve victory if one gets dejected. You should develop the mindset of overcoming challenges in order to achieve in life,” the AIADMK supremo said.

Narrating a couple of anecdotes involving the life of a king and that of Vikatakavi Tenali Ramakrishna, who was among the eight poets in the court of Krishnadevaraya, the Vijayanagara emperor, Ms Jayalalithaa said those who overcame challenges in life would scale great heights. “Some problems could be burdensome. If you consider such things as happening only for good reasons, you could concentrate on your next work and move ahead in life happily,” she said.

“Everything that happens is only for the good,” she remarked obviously referring to the people’s decisive mandate to the AIADMK’s in the LS poll. Her party’s MP Thambidurai had been unanimously elected as the Deputy Speaker of the LS.
