HTC officially launches One M8 with Windows Phone 8.1

HTC has officially launched its Windows version of the One M8

Windows Phone and HTC fans can rejoice since a powerful new handset from HTC has been launched. The HTC One M8 has a Windows variant and retails for almost $599.99 (approx Rs 37,000) exclusively on Verizon.

The previous leaks about an HTC Windows phone being the One W8 seems to be put down with Microsoft and HTC launching the One M8.

The HTC One M8 features a Snapdragon 801 chipset with four processors bussing at 2.3GHz and a 5-inch full HD display. The internal storage is 32GB and the rear camera is a dual HTC UltraPixel with a BSI sensor, while the front camera is a 5MP. The handset weighs 160g and is 9.35mm thick. The operating system is Windows Phone 8.1. Additional features include LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi ac and IR.

Since the HTC One M8 Android and Windows version phones have identical hardware, it is very likely that older One M8 owners would be able to see the possibility of Windows OS on their handsets.

As of now, the bootloader is yet to be cracked by developers and soon there could be a possibility of HTC One M8 having dual-boot OS options.
