Aim is to bring BJP to power in Uttar Pradesh: Amit Shah

'Mr Modi does not sleep and he does not let others sleep' - Amit Shah

Lucknow: BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday said that his main agenda was to bring the party to power in Uttar Pradesh and he would not rest till his mission was accomplished. Mr Shah, who was on his maiden visit to Lucknow after being appointed party president, also launched a scathing attack on the Akhilesh government in the state and said that the Samajwadi government was solely responsible for the deplorable law and order situation here.

Addressing a meeting of party workers at the Saraswati Shishu Mandir here, Mr Shah acknowledged the contribution of party workers from UP in the formation of a majority BJP government at the Centre. “The credit for our success goes to party cadres in UP who sank their personal differences to give us 73 seats. Every worker deserves to be thanked for this. If you work with the same dedication, we will form the next government in UP with a two-third majority,” he said.

Mr Shah asked party workers to start working down to the grassroots level and strengthen the organisation. The BJP president further said that during the general elections, Mr Narendra Modi had given the slogan of a ‘Congress-mukt Bharat’ and now the time had come for a ‘BJP yukt UP.’ He asked party cadres to start working and build up a wave in favor of the BJP.

“For those who think that I am no longer in charge of UP, I want to say that UP will be in my charge till we form the government here,” he stated. Lauding Mr Narendra Modi’s style of working, Mr Shah said, “Mr Modi does not sleep and he does not let others sleep. He has prepared a roadmap for every sector and the results will be there for all to see in the coming days.
